Etamar Laron, MA

Etamar started his commercial career in computing in 1991 at the age of 17, starting up CogniTest for psychological testing, where he saw his first and only startup to fail. Etamar quickly moved over to be a founding team member and project manager at Xpert Unix Systems (1995), Hermelin College CIO (1998) and Development Manager at MindCite (2000). In 2005 Etamar took an offer to CEO and resurrect Topspin Ltd and bring its products to market (still operational in 2025). Then in 2009, completing his tenure after successfully commercializing Scanmarker, started up Asparna. Etamar headed Asparna throughout its first decade before assuming CEO and Founder position at Asparna’s subsidiary Filo Systems, which he heads until now.

Dr. Markman is a serial entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience serving as CEO or CTO for several companies in the biotechnology, technology, and food technology space. He has raised over $70M in venture capital financing for companies that have had successful exits, including some companies that remain private and others that have had an IPO. Most notably he was a founding partner of Procognia that has raised over $50M in 2007. Dr. Markman holds a PhD in Chemistry from Boston College, and worked with Nobel Laureate Ada Yonath for his Master’s Degree.
